Getting to understand Aperture can be the difference between a great image and just a picture. The Depth of Field is managed by the aperture; the image on the right has a small "f" stop so we have a shallow depth of field, this picture was taken at "f"4.5. The image on the left was taken with a higher "f" number hence a larger depth of field. In the picture on the left more details are visible for example more flowers and a larger portion of the building in the background . This shows more fore and middle ground, whilst the image on the right places more focus on the foreground paying more attention to the yellow flower with blurred image in the background.
