The Task Ahead

This assignment is on the section of Location Photography. As well as producing the evidence, I will be undertaking a series of projects in which my knowledge of Location Photography will be assessed. I have been asked to take a set of photograph for a particular website that sells stock photographs. The images will be displayed on their website for potential buyers. My task to take a minimum of twelve (12) pictures to be handed in.

Other things that I've been asked to do are to research into the history of street photography and also look into works of other photographers. For my project, I will be placing most of my emphasis on Victorian photography.

The first section of the assignment is the Planning and Presentation: in this section I will be looking at the works of contemporary photographers, other location photographers, as well as look at other images and styles and create a mind map. They have recommended that I use some of the ideas that I have generated to influence my work.

In the next section I will draw inspiration from documentary and location photography, and take some images reflecting what I have found; then I will need to analyse and review these images. At this stage I might have to make some amendment to the planning that I have initially started out with.

The third section of the assignment will be the presenting and the evaluation stage. This is where I will be reflecting on the whole project and see what could have been different, how the work of my chosen photographer inspired my work, see if anything had changed during the time that I have started the project and finally, look at the images that I have taken and see how good they are and see if they could’ve been any better.

At the end of this assignment, I should’ve a better knowledge of photography and have more in-depth knowledge of camera control. I am aspiring to produce images of a higher standard by the end of this project.
